Traders and Regions
There are MANY ways to make and spend money in the Zone. Supply and prep is critical to managing your survival every time you step foot outside the Rookie Village, 1000 Rads Bar, or the Faction HQs.
Every Faction HQ has faction reps who will sell you supplies relative to your reputation with the faction. The most dedicated and fully initiated stalkers in factions will even be ISSUED supplies before tasks.
The Southern Zone And Cordon:
-South Forest & Cordon:
The starting zone for all loners, home to TWO military checkpoints and the Rookie Village.
The IPSF Military faction patrols here to try and keep out unwanted trespassers into the zone.
All players NOT pre reg with a faction will have to start at the Cordon and sneak past to get into the rest of the zone. This area is relatively safe during the day from mutants, and the anomaly fields are fairly easy to navigate with few lethal threats. The safe routes are wide here and easier to follow.
Rumor has it the military checkpoints are fairly corrupt and allow STALKERS to approach, trade, bribe or even potentially join the ranks of the MIL STALKER faction.
-The Rookie Village-
The Rookie Village in the south is a safe haven, and is home to a full trader post. This is also home to the Veteran Loners a loose affiliation of experienced stalkers looking out for those new to the zone. The Rookie village is MOSTLY safe, and is the starting social hub for players before they make their way toward Rostok and the Bar.
The Central Zone, Rostok:
-Rostok Region-
The rostok region is a developed urban industrial region. It is home to the main hub of the zone, the 1000 Rads Bar, as well as the HQs for the two major warring factions, Duty and Freedom.
The region is dense, and FULL of both regular anomaly fields AND deadly ones. These fields have carved a complex path through the region, forcing both sides to fight a endless war over critical points along the few safe routes.
The FACTION WAR is the main combat focus of this sector of the zone, STALKERS who want of fight should head to the bar and then pick a faction.
-1000 Rads Bar-
Farther north, you will encounter 1000 Rads Bar. While safe, with a peace maintained by both freedom and duty factions, this is a far more cutthroat home. You can rub elbows with killers from the Bandits, stone cold professional murders from the mercs, or you might bump into a spy from the Interior Ministry. Barkeep is a full fledged trader who can supply you with everything from ammo to meds, or even food and drink. The bar is also the temporary home to the Ecologists, who are THE source for anomalous equipment and protection.
-Freedom holds an HQ Outpost directly north of the Bar.
-Duty holds an HQ Outpost directly south of the Bar.
Both factions have a relatively safe direct route to the bar, divided from each other. Both factions have a dedicated entrance that can only be used by them or by loners. While violence CAN occur at the bar, NO Faction on Faction engagement is permitted in or around the bar and will result in expulsion from faction and being hunted down.
-The Death Fields-
A large clear area west of the improvised airfield built during a failed military raid into the zone as a forward operating base. The DEATH FIELDS are one large anomalous field with MANY smaller deadly pockets.
The Arcanomaly Deadfall sits to the north east and is both THE most deadly area and the ONLY accessible route into the North not controlled by Monolith.
The North:
The road to the north is impassable besides ONE highly anomalous and irradiated trail, or passing through the Deadfall Anomaly.
Beyond that is the Monolith HQ Outpost.
This area is FULL of regular and deadly anomaly fields and is fully manned by the monolith forces. Entering here is death. Monolith not only have man power but firepower, including vehicles.
The North West corner of the Northern Forest is THE most deadly area in this section of the zone. It is ALL Deadly Level Anomaly fields and a CONSTANT Psi FIeld. Any stalker entering this corner will hear the deadly Psi Waves and are INSTANTLY Zombified.
There are NO vendors here. There is NO safety here. Stalkers sneaking in may find amazing riches but more than likely will be lost like so many others to the zone.
YOU MAY NOT ENTER THE NORTH WITHOUT SCANNER, GAS MASK, PSI MEDS and FULL REP with any one faction.
