The Hunting of Mutants and Monsters
Threats in the zone are not limited to humans. Several incredibly dangerous Mutants still remain even after Duty and Freedoms cleaning operations in the area surrounding Rostok. While successful in driving off the packs of wild irradiated dogs, the gap in the ecosystem has let other more dangerous creatures in.
-The Hunt-
SHOTGUNS
When facing down mutants in the Battle for Rostok, shotguns with repeated hits can potentially kill them. A mutant kill will have a trophy loot item on them that is redeemable for significant Rubles. Rifles may slow mutants down or turn them away.
Snorks:
Insane, Gibbering mutated former workers and military members from the earliest expeditions. They run crouched and have a distinct gas mask stuck to their face that their flesh has grown into. These are completely feral creatures devoid of anything except the will to hunt down their next meal.
In Game Mechanics: Shotguns can kill them. Rifles can drive them off. If one hits or grabs you, you are automatically in the Downed State, and begin bleedout or armor regen.
Bloodsuckers:
Running Fast, hard to see and incredibly tough to kill. If they grab you, you are dead. They will use their appendages to drink your blood.
In Game Mechanics: Blood Suckers populate the outliers and the woods and are particularly active at night. Rifle fire can slow them down, but it will take concentrated shotgun fire, and repeated hits to put one down. Their touch is instant death. If grabbed by one you cant struggle of fight but they may be shot by a shotgun during this process.
Controllers:
Slow, Plodding and impervious to gun fire. Though incredibly rare, the emit a psychic noise that shreds the human mind.
Intel Suggests Monolith Resurgent may have a specially modified controller.
In Game Mechanics: Any player within earshot of the noise the controller makes MUST go to their knees, act disoriented and cease shooting or fire. They may attempt to crawl and break line of sight and run. The Controller can NOT be killed at this time.

SPECIAL NOTE:
The monsters at Battle For Rostok are dedicated role-players putting their time, and effort into bringing this unique aspect to the event. DO NOT ABUSE THEM.
